Comic Strip Making with Stan Yan

Cartoonist Stan Yan will lead members through formulas for writing consistently funny comic strips and show his process for planning his combination of merging text and illustration. This presentation will culminate in each member creating their own comic strip along with interactive live drawing tips.

Supplies needed for the class:

• Print this template at home: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ec3t8roqiznsy7/4PanelStrip.pdf?dl=0
• Erasable pencil.
• Large gum or kneaded eraser (like a Pink Pearl).
• Black ink pens and markers of various widths (example: Sharpie ultra-thin and Sharpie thin).
• Extra paper (for sketching, brainstorming, and a blotter sheet so the sharpie won’t bleed through and stain  drawing surface).
• Imagination!
