PARKER ARTS PRESENTS

Parker Arts Lecture: The History of Colorado as Told Through Art

Join us at the PACE Center Event Room on December 10, 2026 for the FREE Parker Arts Lecture: The History of Colorado as Told Through Art, an engaging panel discussion exploring Colorado’s past through the lens of artists, historians, collectors, and cultural experts.

This fascinating conversation brings together a diverse group of speakers whose work spans Colorado’s mining frontiers, artistic institutions, and Indigenous traditions. Through their unique perspectives, audiences will discover how art has documented, interpreted, and shaped the story of Colorado’s development and cultural identity.

Featured panelists include James Fell, Ph.D., retired Senior Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver and expert on Colorado’s industrial and mining history; Linda Cook, co-owner of the Cook Gallery of Historic Fine Art and specialist in regional American and historic Native American art; and Robert Lewis, Esq., longtime collector and advocate for Colorado artists and cultural institutions.

Also joining the discussion will be a Native American scholar, (Speaker to Be Announced), who will provide additional insight into the artistic and cultural traditions that continue to shape Colorado’s story.

Together, the panel will explore how waves of settlers, miners, health seekers, and artists influenced the state’s evolution, and how art became a powerful reflection of Colorado’s landscapes, communities, and changing identity over time.

Discover Colorado history through the artwork, stories, and perspectives that continue to define the region today.
