Parker Arts, in partnership with the Colorado Dragon Boat Film Festival and Denver Film, invites you to an afternoon where film, live performance, and conversation come together in a vibrant celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities and culture.
The experience begins with a lively reception featuring small bites provided by AANHPI vendors and a live performance that showcases one of the amazing communities under the AANHPI umbrella and sets the tone for the night. This happy hour gathering creates space for guests to connect while experiencing the creativity and cultural richness that shape the stories AANHPI Voice in Film.
Following the reception, guests will move into the theater for a powerful poet storyteller performance that blends spoken word and narrative to reflect the personal and cultural themes explored throughout the evening.
A moderated panel discussion will follow, bringing together voices from the film community to explore Asian American representation in cinema. Through conversation and insight, the panel will highlight the evolving landscape of AANHPI storytelling on screen and the importance of visibility, authorship, and authentic narratives.
