Get into the holiday spirit as the Parker Chorale and the Parker Symphony Orchestra treat you to an evening of traditional carols, familiar songs, and a few surprises in this annual celebration.
About the Parker Chorale:
Founded in 2010, the Parker Chorale has brought joy to audiences through a variety of musical performances, covering everything from 16th Century madrigals, to Broadway musical selections, up to the Beatles. This talented group of musicians handles everything they take on with artistry and professionalism, which improves with every season.
In addition to their varied programs each spring, the Parker Chorale teams up with the Parker Symphony Orchestra every year for the much loved Classic Parker Holiday and Sounds of the Season events. These performances include everything from Christmas and Chanukah favorites, to music by the greatest composers—Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, to name a few—to wonderful holiday medleys composed by the Chorale’s own directors. The Parker Chorale also performs each year at the Mayor’s Tree Lighting celebration, held at O’Brien Park the day after Thanksgiving, giving those who attend a sneak preview of the holiday concerts that follow a mere week later.
As a Parker Arts partner since 2011, the Parker Chorale is fully engaged in community support. Each year at its Spring concerts, the Chorale presents a gift to a local high school in support of its music program. Recipients of this gift include Ponderosa High School and Legends High School. The Parker Chorale also donates proceeds from ticket sales for one of its holiday concerts each year to the Parker Task Force, helping community members in need of support.
About the Parker Symphony Orchestra:
The Parker Symphony Orchestra is Parker’s community orchestra, performing amazing classical music at the PACE Center. They were founded in 1994 as the South Suburban Community Orchestra, but with their first concert at the PACE Center in 2011, they officially became the Parker Symphony Orchestra.
Highlights from past seasons at PACE include collaborations with the Legend High School choir, holiday concerts with the Parker Chorale, children’s concerts with the Young Voices of Colorado, a Veteran’s Day concert featuring the Colorado Mormon Chorale and numerous professional guest soloists.
As a Parker Arts presenting partner, the PSO offers musical programs designed to encourage the people of Parker to explore classical music in new ways, including listening to new styles and unfamiliar composers. The PSO hopes to inspire people of all ages to pick up and play music themselves. They also give local musicians a venue to perform with other music lovers and give youth groups, such as Young Voices of Colorado, the opportunity to perform with a full orchestra.
In addition to performances, the Parker Symphony Orchestra has an active outreach program that is proud to help support local school music programs. There are also several groups within the organization that perform for senior communities throughout the year.To learn more about the Parker Symphony Orchestra, CLICK HERE.
