This March, step into the pages of one of the most beloved bedtime stories of all time as we bring Goodnight Moon to life like never before.
At the heart of our celebration is the featured art exhibit, Goodnight Moon: A Fiber Tale—a breathtaking, life-sized fiber art installation that transforms Margaret Wise Brown’s iconic story into a fully immersive experience. Lovingly woven, stitched, and sculpted by artists Emilie Odeile and Ken Chapin of Dundee & Lee, this extraordinary exhibit reimagines the Great Green Room in vivid textile form, inviting guests of all ages to explore the world of Goodnight Moon like never before.
Each handcrafted detail honors the original illustrations by Clement Hurd while adding rich texture and depth that can only be experienced in person. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or discovering the story for the first time, Goodnight Moon: A Fiber Tale offers a magical, tactile journey into the heart of a true children’s classic.
The installation then becomes the enchanting set for the stage production of Goodnight Moon, a charming, family-friendly performance that unfolds under the soft glow of the moon and among the cozy corners of the fiber-crafted room.
Goodnight Moon: A Fiber Tale is Made with The Express Permission of HarperCollins Publishers.

weaving tales together: co-authoring children’s books
MAR 21 | 10AM – 12PM | Ages 16+
Instructor: Nyasha Williams, Lighthouse Writers
Inspired by the beloved bedtime classic Goodnight Moon and the colorful fiber art exhibit accompanying this series, we’ll weave storytelling, creativity, and practical publishing insight into a collaborative writing journey. Whether you’re teaming up with a partner or discovering how to build a story through community and conversation, this workshop will guide you in crafting stories rooted in intention, identity, and imagination.
In this interactive workshop, participants will explore the art of co-authoring children’s books – how to co-craft stories that are centered in meaning, voice, and heart. Drawing from Nyasha’s experience of co-authoring titles such as The South African Alphabet of Affirmations, Saturday Magic, Elemental Alchemist, and Once Upon a Kwanzaa, attendees will walk through the creative process of writing in partnership. Together, we’ll discuss how to honor each collaborator’s strengths, align vision, navigate creative differences, and share authorship in a rich weaving and layering. Whether you’re writing with a partner, a community, or a collective, this session will offer practical tools, mindset shifts, and writing exercises to support the journey. Perfect for writers, educators, and creatives interested in storytelling as a shared act of creation.
Participants will leave with a working concept for a co-authored story and tools for collaborative writing and project planning.
