Family Discovery Series shows are affordable, educational shows that run 60 minutes or less, for the youngest of our theater patrons and the young at heart!  Recommended for ages 2- 6.

Set sail for an unforgettable journey when a lively, interactive adaptation of Treasure Island docks at The Schoolhouse on February 7, 2026.

Step into the thrilling world of pirates as you learn the signature pirate laugh, master the pirate eyeball, and belt out a rousing pirate ditty in this lively adaptation of Treasure Island. Willing audience members will be selected to join our professional actor-storyteller on stage, helping to bring the story to life. Participants will take on various roles, from the ship’s scurvy crew to enchanting mermaids — even a talking parrot! The audience will also have plenty of fun contributing sound effects, singing along, and reacting to the unfolding adventure.

Enjoy all the excitement of our Family Discovery Series with a few thoughtful adjustments: lower seating capacity for more room to move, house lights left on, fidget toys welcome, and the option to use electronic devices with headphones. Relaxed atmosphere events are specially adapted to create a more comfortable and inclusive environment for audience members of all ages, including those with sensory sensitivities, learning differences, or other conditions that might benefit from a less traditional event experience.
