Introducing Parker’s New Public Art Master Plan
Public art enriches our civic spaces, creates vibrant gathering spaces, and provides free, unique cultural experiences for everyone in the community. It fosters a sense of place, enhances well-being, honors our heritage, and plays a key role in making cities and towns more desirable places to live and visit.
Over the past year, the Town of Parker Cultural Department has been diligently developing Parker’s first-ever comprehensive Public Art Master Plan. This thorough process involved collaboration with public art experts, as well as input from various Town Departments and community members to understand their vision for public art in Parker. The result is a dynamic plan that outlines a clear long-term vision and specific strategies for integrating public art throughout the town.
On Monday, October 22nd, 2024, Town Council voted unanimously to adopt the Parker Public Art Master Plan, along with its accompanying policies and procedures. In addition, a new Public Art Commission has been approved to help bring these objectives to life. Several exciting public art projects are already underway, and we’re thrilled to use art as a way to enhance Parker’s identity and charm.
