PARKER ARTS PRESENTS

Goodnight Moon - Stitch & Story: A Fiber Arts Conversation with the Artist, Emilie Odeile

Part of Parker Arts’ Goodnight Moon: A Fiber Tale exhibition, reimagining the classic children’s story through textile art, storytelling, and cultural symbolism. On display March 12–29, 2026, at The Schoolhouse Theater.

Calling all knitters and crocheters!

How long does it take to knit through 152 miles of yarn? What compels an artist to recreate Goodnight Moon’s Great Green Room entirely in worsted weight?

Join us for a special artist talk with accomplished fiber artist Emilie Odeile, the creative force behind this meticulously crafted textile installation. Offering a rare peek into the making of Goodnight Moon – A Fiber Tale—a large-scale work built from nearly six million stitches—Emilie will share the story behind the project, the techniques she used, and reflections on the path that led her here, from early doubts about her creativity to a career spanning fashion, film, and immersive fiber work.

Bring your yarn and needles—this is a sit-back-and-knit kind of talk. Questions and conversation are encouraged!

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Emilie Dundee Odeile‘s career began in the high-fashion world, where her distinctive, moody knitwear graced the runways of New York, Los Angeles, and Paris Fashion Weeks. Her designs have appeared in film, commercials, and magazines, worn by some of the most iconic figures in entertainment. Recognized by the City of Los Angeles for her “bold entrepreneurship and inspiring artistry,” Odeile has since shifted her focus from wearable art to monumental fiber installations, blending her expertise in fashion with a sculptural approach to knitting. She reimagines fiber as architecture, crafting awe-inspiring works like Goodnight Moon – A Fiber Tale, a 500-square-foot replica of the story’s Great Green Room, made from 152 miles of yarn and nearly six million stitches.

Don’t forget to explore the full lineup of events in our Goodnight Moon: A Fiber Tale celebration! From storytimes and sing-alongs to workshops and stargazing, there’s something magical for everyone—all March long.
