STEAM Discovery Series
General Information
Parker Arts new STEAM Discovery Series for families offers a story-time followed by a hands-on project focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, math and music concepts appropriate for young minds to learn and grow. (Geared for ages 2-4.) Click on the class codes below to be redirected to our class registration system.
$15 Registration is for the whole family. All supplies are provided. Active imagination is required!

All About Archaeology
Ages: 2-4
It’s time to dig in! This month we are exploring the world of archaeology and what might be right underneath our feet. Learn what archaeologists do, dig in the dirt, and wash your very own artifact! Our book this month is The Street Beneath MY Feet (Charlotte Guillain), helping us explore the fascinating world underneath our daily lives. One registration includes the entire family!

All About Science
Ages: 2-4
This month is all about science. What is an experiment? What happens if you mix things together? Why? It’s time to explore these questions along with Ada Twist Scientist (Andrea Beaty). We will create our own moon sand and learn all about what scientists do and why they do it! One registration includes the entire family!

All About Sound
Ages: 2-4
This month we are diving into the world of sound! Oscar and the Bat (Geoff Waring) will take us on a journey learning all about different sounds and how they work. Then we will stop off at the make-believe sound factory where we will get to make our very own instruments and sing and play songs! One registration includes the entire family!

All About Insects
Ages: 2-4
What is an insect? Why do they do what they do? How does a butterfly work? It’s time to find out! This month we will investigate the world in your backyard. Take a short nature walk, create an insect home, and have the chance to bring home your very own caterpillar (with care instructions). Our book this month is The Very Quiet Cricket (Eric Carle) helping us explore sound and the world through a cricket’s eyes. One registration includes the entire family!

Animal Yoga
Ages: 2-4
It’s time to shake, move, and groove! This month is all about movement in the world around us from toys to our bodies! We will read Oscar and the Cricket (Geoff Waring), play movement games, and practice a little animal yoga. One registration includes the entire family!

Clouds
Ages: 2-4
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s a cloud! This month we are soaring into the sky to find out what makes clouds tick. We will read Little Cloud (Eric Carle) and explore different kinds of clouds and the weather they cause. Participants will then get to perform a cloud experiment and create their own melted crayon rain drawing. One registration includes the entire family!

Seeds and Plants
Ages: 2-4
Let’s start the spring off right! This month is all about seeds and plants and growing up in the world around us! We will read the Dandilion Seed (Joseph Anthony) and follow the life cycle of a dandelion and learn about how seeds move around the world. You will then have the chance to create your own seed glider and plant your own flower to take home and watch grow! One registration includes the entire family!
