Preteen Lyrical

Preteen Lyrical is a weekly dance class that combines technical training with creative expression. Dancers will dive into the technical aspects of lyrical dance, blending the fluidity of ballet, the energy of jazz, and the emotion of modern dance. Through dynamic choreography, students will learn how to connect deeply with the music and express stories through their movement. This class encourages both skill-building and self-expression, while keeping it fun, energetic, and full of creativity. Perfect for preteens who want to challenge themselves technically while enjoying the artistry and freedom of lyrical dance!

A $40 costume rental fee is required to participate in the end of semester performance and is paid to The Dance Connection the first week of class. Rented costumes must be returned after the performance to avoid additional fees. Students interested in expanding their abilities and talents are encouraged to simultaneously enroll in other Level 2 and Preteen Hip Hop.

Level of Instruction: Intermediate to advanced

Equipment Needed: Dance attire is required, and lyrical shoes or Foot Undeez are encouraged.

Semester Dates: August 11– December 4
Dress Rehearsals: December 1 & 2
Performances: December 3 & 4
No Class Dates: Sept 1 (Labor Day), Oct 31 (Halloween), Nov 24-29 (Thanksgiving Break)
