On Pointe: Level 5A Ballet & Contemporary

At this level, students should embody their prior dance experience and showcase impeccable technique and placement while expanding their repertoire. They must demonstrate technical advancement and be able to focus on the quality of breath and movement. Dancers will receive one ballet costume and one jazz costume. Two costume fees ($83 each) are required to participate in the end of semester performance and is due to On Pointe the first week of class. Costume fees are made payable to On Pointe the first week of class. Dancers with more than two costume fees will receive additional costumes at a discount.

Level of Instruction: Advanced

Equipment Needed: Students are expected to wear a black dance leotard and pink ballet tights with pointe shoes. Hair should be pulled away from the face.

Registration Requirements: Dancers must be taking a minimum of two additional ballet classes to dance en pointe.

Semester Dates: January 6 – May 3
Dress Rehearsals: May 8 & 9
Performances: May 10
No Class Dates: March 17-22 (Spring Break)
