Level 4A Ballet & Contemporary
Level 4A Ballet & Contemporary is a rigorous, advanced-level class designed for dedicated dancers with a deep understanding of ballet who are ready to refine their technique and artistic expression at the highest level. This class focuses on challenging and complex ballet exercises, including advanced barre work, intricate center combinations, and demanding across-the-floor progressions. Dancers will also immerse themselves in contemporary choreography that pushes the boundaries of movement, incorporating sharp dynamics, fluidity, and intricate transitions.
Emphasis will be placed on precision, alignment, and strength as students tackle advanced technical challenges. Dancers will work on elevating their performance quality through greater emotional depth, breath control, and the integration of expression with movement. This class is designed to push dancers beyond their limits—enhancing flexibility, stamina, and musicality while encouraging deep self-awareness and connection to the music. It’s perfect for those who want to refine their artistry and technical prowess, combining the rigor of ballet with the free, expansive qualities of contemporary dance.
A $80 costume rental fee ($40 for each costume) is required to participate in the end of semester performance and is paid to The Dance Connection the first week of class. Dancers will receive one ballet costume and one jazz/contemporary costume. Rented costumes must be returned after the performance to avoid additional fees. Students interested in expanding their abilities and talents are encouraged to simultaneously enroll in other Level 3 or 4 classes, Teen Modern, and Teen Hip Hop classes.
