On Pointe: Level 2B Ballet

Our Level 2B class dance class gives our dancers the opportunity to focus on their study of ballet. Students learn proper technique and alignment. Dance class is an excellent time to develop self-awareness and self-management, and these skills go with the dancer after they leave the studio. During this class, students are individually assessed for pointe shoe approval. A typical class structure includes exercises done at the barre, in center and across the floor. A $83 costume fee is required to participate in the end of semester performance and is due to On Pointe the first week of class. Students interested in expanding their abilities and talents are encouraged to simultaneously enroll in other Level 2 classes, Preteen Lyrical and Preteen Hip Hop.

Level of Instruction: Intermediate to advanced

Skills Learned: Skills Learned: Ballet and pre-pointe.

Equipment Needed: Students are expected to wear a black dance leotard and pink ballet tights with ballet slippers with the option of demi pointe shoes. Hair should be pulled away from the face.

Registration Requirements: Must be simultaneously enrolled in another Ballet technique class and have one year of dance training.

Semester Dates: January 6 – May 3
Dress Rehearsals: May 8 & 9
Performances: May 10
No Class Dates: March 17-22 (Spring Break)
