Missoula Children’s Theater – Snow Queen

Ages 5-18
Although set in a “land of colored ice,” this classic tale will warm your heart in its illustrative retelling by a group of fun-loving, imaginative hobgoblins.  As they depict the journey of a young girl and her quest to find her best friend, you may just find yourself believing in malevolent mirrors, yetis, talking reindeer, and snow chickens!  Blizzards can come at any moment, so strap on some snowshoes and get ready to discover what it takes to overcome chilling obstacles, keep resilience alive, and melt down the Snow Queen’s icy wall. Tickets for the performances are $7 and can be purchased online at www.parkerarts.org starting Jan. 14.

Parker Theatre Academy - Showtime

Parker Theatre Academy offers personalized acting training to all ages of students. The first eight weeks focus on individualized performance and audition skills. The second eight weeks focus on rehearsal for a showcase held in April for family and friends. Students may join classes monthly but are encouraged to be involved the entire semester as each class builds on the skills learned during the previous class. We emphasize quadruple threat by focusing on acting for the stage, dancing and singing for musical theater, and improvisation.

Parker Theatre Academy: Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Participate in a fun-filled improvisation workshop and performance at The Schoolhouse. Students will learn the games made famous by the TV show, Whose Line Is It Anyway? prior to the performance and immediately perform before a live audience. Tickets to the performance will be sold for $5.00 at the door.

KidStage Stars – Mulan

Ages: 5-12
In China there is a legend of a great soldier who saved the emperor and who saved all of China from the monstrous Hun army.  This soldier was a girl named Mulan.  She was never very good at her traditional “girl” responsibilities, and no matter what she tried, she always ended up dishonoring her family.  Until one day the army came for her aging father and Mulan took his place, breaking the law and pretending to be a boy so she could serve instead of him to protect his life.  With the help of a lucky cricket, a wise-cracking dragon and a rag tag group of soldiers, Mulan defies tradition, brings honor to her family and becomes the hero of China! All students will be cast as a character in the play. After the last day of class, the students will perform the play for family and friends at 6:30 p.m. at The Schoolhouse.

Broadway Juniors Disney Princess

Ages: 2.5-5
Join us for fun and creativity as we sing, act, and dance to Disney's favorite princess songs! Your child will find their voice through matching pitch, musical play, enchanted games, and treasure chest activities. To wrap up the semester, parents are invited to a sweet princess party and recital featuring all students! We recommend signing up for both sessions, but new students are welcome to join at any time. Note: A $10 materials fee payable to the instructor is due the first day of class.

Students will work on a group number as well as their choice of a solo or duet with a friend. Family and friends are invited to join us for an exciting end-of-session showcase performance! Let's follow the yellow brick road to the Wonderful Wizard of Oz! Mini Musicals is a playful introduction to the world of performing, and in this session, we will explore the characters and story of this much-loved classic. Students will build confidence as they use their imagination and express themselves through singing, acting and creative movement. Storybook Theater: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Join us on a silly adventure into Dr. Seuss's One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish! Storybook Theater is an educational experience that encourages literacy and a love for reading by letting kids perform as characters of the story. Our curriculum develops speech and memorization, instills confidence, taps into your child's creativity and imagination, all while having a whole lot of fun! Parker Theater Academy: Bumps, Cuts & Bruises:  A crash course in wound makeup and stage combat

Ages: 13-18
Parker Theater Academy presents a crash course in how to apply wound makeup and how to act out delivering those wounds through stage combat.  In the first half of this workshop the students will learn how to properly apply the make-up. During the second half of the workshop students will learn basic fist fighting and French style sword fighting. The students will be encouraged to incorporate their makeup into the fight choreography.  The last 30 minutes of class, family and friends will be invited to see the finished products.  Students are asked to purchase a Bruises, Bumps, Blisters and Burns make-up kit through PTA that they will take home. A $35 materials fee is payable to the instructor the day of class.

A Special Kind of Musical Theater

Ages 8+
This course is designed specifically for actors with special needs and their peer buddies. Do you want to improve your acting, singing, and dancing skills so you can be a Triple Threat in musicals? Using Disney songs, the participants will learn singing skills and dancing steps, as well as audition skills, theater terms and stage directions. The strength of this class is the participants’ ongoing active learning and practice of concepts and skills. The class will end with a showcase of small and whole group performances during the last class. Join us for a fun and exciting theatre adventure! KidStage Stars – Moana

Ages: 5-12
Join Moana, the daughter of the chief, on the island of Montunui as she sets out on a quest to follow her heart and discover who she truly is. Along the way, she gets to know a conceited yet hilarious demigod, a fashionable crab, and a harebrained rooster.  Her wise Grandmother, whose spirit is closely tied to the ocean, helps Moana discover her voice and her core on this fantastic journey. All students will be cast as a character in the play. After the last day of class, the students will perform the play for family and friends at 6:30 p.m. at The Schoolhouse.
