Urban Tap

 
Age: 12+
This class is not your traditional style tap class that teaches time steps and shuffle off to Buffalo. This class is a raw, percussive, street style tap that will teach you to create funky, rhythmic sounds. Come experience a tap class like no other.

Beginner Dance Class


Ages: 3 - 6
A weekly dance class offered in the summer that is designed to introduce little girls to the world of dance through movement, literature, and imagination. The instructors combine basic skills of ballet and creative movement with props, books, and music to create a wonderful and wholesome class experience. Dancers will participate in class instruction, choreography, and imaginative movement centered around the favorite frozen theme. Let your princess wear her dance attire or favorite princess costume, and explore the icy kingdom. Our Beginner Dance class and Frozen Dance Camp are complimentary if you are interested in registering for both.

Intermediate Dance Class


Ages: 6 - 10
A fun summer weekly class designed to teach and explore the art of dance and performance. Instructors combine the use of music and movement to help each dancer unlock their ability. Dancers participate in class instruction, choreography, and gain knowledge of stage production that leads them to being more self-aware and confident in their dancing. Participants should wear dancewear with ballet and/or jazz shoes. Our Intermediate Dance Class and So You Wanna Dance? Dance Camp are complimentary if you are interested in registering for both.

Mommy & Me Dance


A new offering for younger children who need and want to move. This is the perfect opportunity to explore creative movement and imagination. Adults are required to participate with the child. Come build a love for the art of motion and music. Traditional dance clothing or loose fitting clothing is required. Ballet shoes or bare feet are acceptable.

On Pointe School of Dance


Fall Session Is Open For Registration!

The art, training, and passion for dance come together at On Pointe School of Dance. We have a 14–year history of providing children and youth the opportunity to explore dance in a non-competitive environment, with teachers who are invested in the personal growth and self-esteem of each student. We love teaching, and approach each student with a whole-bodied methodology to contribute to each individual. On Pointe’s relationship with the Town of Parker has existed since 2006 and continues to fit the needs and desires of the Parker community. We love what we do and want to share our joy of dance with you.
Our dance classes include the unique performing experience for all dancers ages 3 and up to participate in our winter performance of Clara’s Dream at the PACE Center, December 20 and 21. A $25 costume rental fee is made payable to On Pointe the first week of class. Classes start August 15 and end with the performances. There are no classes on September 5 (Labor Day), October 31 (Halloween) or November 23 and 24 (Thanksgiving).

Preschool Combo (Ballet and Tap) (3-4 years)

 
Our Preschool Combination Class offers young dancers the opportunity to express herself through movement and music. Attention is given to body awareness and group interaction skills. The basic vocabulary of ballet and tap will be introduced and classes are designed to expand understanding of movement and grow to appreciate music. Students move through the hour by practicing ballet and tap. Leotard, tights, ballet and tap shoes are required.

PreK and Kindergarten Combination (Ballet and Tap) (4-6 years)


Similar to our Beginning Combination Class, this dance class is designed to offer 2nd year Preschoolers and Kindergarteners a mid-day day class option. Our PreK/Kindie Class offers the dancer the opportunity to develop a lifelong appreciation for dance, music and the performing arts. Special attention is given to the physical, emotional and mental components of each dancer. We continue to develop strength and poise without over-stressing the young body. We gradually add to the basic vocabulary of ballet and tap. Class time is split between ballet and tap. Leotard, tights, ballet and tap shoes are required.

Beginning combo (Ballet and Tap) (4-6 years)


Our Beginning Combination Class offers the dancer the opportunity to develop a lifelong appreciation for dance, music and the performing arts. Special attention is given to the physical, emotional and mental components of each dancer. We continue to develop strength and poise without over-stressing the young body. We gradually add to the basic vocabulary of ballet and tap and prepare our dancers for a more comprehensive dance syllabus. Class time is split between ballet and tap. Leotard, tights, ballet and tap shoes are required.

Intermediate Combo (Ballet and Tap) (6-8 years)


Our Intermediate Combination Class offers the developing dancer the crucial foundation for further study in any genre of dance. Attention is focused on proper alignment in the legs, stomach, and back. Our progressive approach ensures each dancer will gain muscle strength that is appropriate for the young developing body. We add to the dancer’s vocabulary by working at the barre and in center. Class time is split between ballet and tap. Leotard, tights, ballet and tap shoes are required.

Advanced Combination (Ballet and Jazz) (8-10 years)


This is the first level where jazz is introduced. Students in this level continue learning proper technique and placement while continuing to develop strength. They learn proper ballet terms, vocabulary and technique to help them in any dance genre. A typical ballet class structure includes exercises done at the barre, in center and across the floor. Jazz basics and turns and leaps are introduced while reinforcing dance technique the second half of class.

Advanced Tap (8-10 years)


A great pairing with our Advanced Combination class, this Tap class develops rhythms and an appreciation for the art of tap. Math, music and movement all come together! Parents of students are welcome to join!

Kids Hip Hop (8-12 years)


For children 8-12 years, this fast-paced class explores the trends of break dancing, hip hop, popping, and locking. Participants are encouraged to bring their energy and personality to develop their own individual style. Come with a great attitude and ready to move.

Move It Your Way (8+ years)


This dance class is designed for those with special needs. Dance promotes creative expression, is a low impact form of exercise, and is fun! We will explore ballet, jazz, and creative movement while being social. Typical peers will act as Volunteers, and will participate in the class to serve as role models and help participants as needed. Typical peers and siblings, please call 303.805.3374 to volunteer.
This dance class includes the unique performing experience to participate in our winter performance of Clara’s Dream at the PACE Center, December 19-21. A costume will be chosen for the participants, and a small costume rental fee will be made payable to On Pointe in November. There is no class on November 24 (Thanksgiving).
