Professional Workshop With Tadashi

Ages: 15+ years
Advanced students will learn the meaning of being an artist through the inspirational and motivational teaching techniques of Tadashi Hayakawa. In this informal and self-motivated open studio, students will break away from formal art instruction and develop critical art appreciation while creating enthusiasm and energy for art expression. Students are encouraged to bring a current work in progress and must supply their own canvas or drawing/painting pads, with all materials including paint, brushes, pallets, etc. Donations made to Tadashi Hayakawa are encouraged. Hands-On Introduction to DSLR Photography

Ages: 16+
This course is designed to help you understand and get more out of your Digital SLR or “super-zoom” camera. Full of tips, tricks, and live demonstrations, this class will help you understand Aperture, ISO, Shutter-Speed, RAW versus JPEG, and how to use them to your advantage using simple terminology. Discover easy methods for image editing, and take better pictures by using composition techniques and developing your artistic eye. Students should bring their camera and camera manual to class.

Artistry and Composition for Photography

Ages: 16+
This class will help you unleash your artistic potential and learn new ways of seeing your world. Dive deeper into compositional techniques to bring out the beauty and interest in your subjects.  With in-class demonstrations, you'll soon learn to take photos that are truly compelling and grab the viewer’s attention!

Introduction to Digital Scrapbooking

Ages: 16+
Are you overwhelmed by your pictures? This four-week course introduces students to digital scrapbooking using Heritage Makers. During each class, students will learn techniques, strategies, and skills; then have time to work on their personal digital scrapbooking. Students may create digital books or individual digital scrap pages and pay for those products upon completion. Students will be able to continue working on digital scrapbooking at home when class is finished. (Heritage Makers software is free to use.) Students should bring a laptop with Adobe Flash installed.
