The Schoolhouse at Mainstreet

Exciting changes are taking place at The Schoolhouse!

Therefore, the building will be closed for renovations until February of
2018. During this time, the 200-seat theater will get
new seating and risers, which will enhance patron comfort and sight lines. The restrooms will be updated and the lobby expanded, with a dedicated concession counter that will vastly speed up drink and snack service. The updated dance studio downstairs in The Schoolhouse will accommodate many more students. Walls have been removed and wood floors and windows restored, creating an open and airy main hall. Two new, charming rental spaces will now overlook Mainstreet, and will be perfect for special events, including wedding receptions and business meetings.

We are thrilled about these changes and know that they will greatly enhance your experience at The Schoolhouse. We can’t wait for you to see them for yourself!

Located adjacent to the Parker Arts, Culture & Events Center (PACE), right behind Ruth Memorial Chapel, The Schoolhouse at Mainstreet is one of the historical buildings in Parker’s Old Town Creative District. Originally opened in 1915 as the Parker Schoolhouse, the building served for many years as a school and a church, until the Town of Parker acquired it in 1995 to use its auditorium, gymnasium and classrooms for community, cultural and recreational activities.  The building houses an art gallery, operated in partnership with the Parker Artists Guild, and one of the classrooms is a dedicated history room, showcasing historical artifacts that represent what a schoolroom may have been like during the first half of the 20th century.
