Technique Level 2 A
Students in level 2 should have had previous dance experience and display and execute proper technique and placement while continuing to expand their repertoire. During ballet, students are individually assessed for pointe shoe approval. Students are technically advanced enough to enjoy focusing on the breath and quality of movement as they already have an understanding of the technique.
Technique Level 2A is on Monday and is for less experienced and younger students. Technique Level 2B is on Thursday and is for more experienced and older students. Technique 2A students interested in expanding their abilities and talents are encouraged to simultaneously enroll in other Technique Level classes and Lyrical and Contemporary Jazz on Friday nights. Older Tech 2B dancers should simultaneously enroll in other Technique Level classes and Contemporary & Modern Dance on Tuesday nights.

Skills Learned: Ballet and jazz
Equipment Needed: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers are required for ballet. Jazz clothing may be layered for the jazz portion of class. Hair should be pulled away from the face.
Registration Requirements: Please arrive on time to class. Classes are designed to warm the body gradually to enable them to execute progressively bigger and more difficult moves as well as to prevent injury. This class performs on stage in the end of semester recital, Clara’s Dream, at PACE. A $35 costume fee required to participate in Clara’s Dream is due to On Pointe on the first week of class.
Skip Dates: Classes start August 9 and end December 10. There are no classes on September 6 (Labor Day), or November 24, 25, or 26 (Thanksgiving Break). Performance week is November 29.
