Scene Study: Classic American Realism
Explore classic works written by American Playwrights! Students will further develop and polish acting skills by exploring classic plays by writers including Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Lillian Hellman, and William Inge. Actors will analyze the text, create character, articulate objectives, explore the concept of personalization, and create physical behavior onstage. Students will take a scene from a produced script and work on it in front of the instructor and peers. This class will culminate in a showcase performance for friends and family. This class supports students interested in pursuing the performing arts at a college or professional level and it will also help any student with advanced text analysis skills, public speaking, and ensemble work.
