On Pointe: Level 4A Ballet & Contemporary

Students in this level have previous dance experience and display and execute proper technique and placement while continuing to expand their repertoire. Students are technically advanced enough to enjoy focusing on the breath and quality of movement as they already have an understanding of the technique. Two $78 costume fees are required to participate in the end of semester performance and are due to On Pointe the first week of class. Dancers will receive one ballet costume and one contemporary costume. Students interested in expanding their abilities and talents are encouraged to simultaneously enroll in other Level 3&4 classes, Modern and Contemporary, and/or Teen Hip Hop.

Level of Instruction: Advanced

Equipment Needed: Black dance leotard and pink ballet tights with ballet slippers and jazz pants or shorts with dance top and jazz shoes /“Foot Undeez.” Hair should be pulled away from the face.

Skip Dates: Classes start January 8 and end May 11.  There are no classes held March 18-23 for Spring Break. Dress rehearsals are May 9 and May 10, and performances are May 11 (no regularly scheduled classes held this week.)
