Artist Statement, 2021
I have always looked at life from a different perspective, and that is reflected in my photos. I’ll shoot anything I can get in front of my lens and if I can get it to splash even better. Inspiration often starts with a random conversation. Words turn in to images as ideas evolve. I will start with a photograph, and then add or move elements to achieve the final image. In altering everyday objects, I am able to create a more abstract or surreal scene.
My goal is to have an image that the viewer has to look at more than once, in order to make sense of it. If they wonder, “How did he do that?”, then I have achieved my objective.
