Artist Statement, 2021
Boulder, Colorado based photographer Fernando Boza believes that a close connection to the natural world is essential for the human spirit; and that to fully experience happiness, it is necessary to live in the present moment. Photography is a way to capture those moments and share them with the others.
Further, looking at the stars creates a sense of wonder and connection beyond our planet. Seeing the stars make their way across the night sky is a reminder that we do not have much control over what happens in the universe as a whole – as we sit in this rocky planet speeding at 67,000 miles per hour around the sun, all the while the sun itself is going at half a million miles per hour around the center of the galaxy.
Yet, it is also a reminder that we do have significant influence over what happens to other species in the planet, thus we have an obligation to act responsibly. Fernando is convinced that we can prosper, and also do it in a sustainable manner
