Art Exhibit: Joellyn Duesberry: Solving Problems on Press
Please join us in celebrating the work of Joellyn Duesberry (1944 – 2016), a nationally-recognized American artist renowned for her vibrant landscape paintings. With a keen eye for color and a unique balance of geometric elements, her canvases brought to life cityscapes and landscapes from around the globe.
Based in Denver, Colorado, Duesberry spent over four decades painting plein-air across the world. Her artistic journey began with exhibitions in New York City in 1979, leading to ten solo shows in the city. Her career reached new heights in 1986 with a National Endowment for the Arts grant, which allowed her to collaborate with Richard Diebenkorn. This collaboration led to experimentation with monotype printmaking, expanding the scope of her artistic expression. Notably, her work was showcased in “The Covenant of Seasons,” organized by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, which toured nationally for a decade.
Joellyn Duesberry: Solving Problems On Press will be on display from March 30 to May 15, 2024.
