Interstellar Adventure Workshop

SpaceTime’s Interstellar Adventure Workshop takes kids on a journey beyond the edges of our solar system to explore the many mysteries of deep space, including traveling at near the speed of light, piloting a nuclear powered spacecraft, taking shortcuts through wormholes, building and launching rovers and spacecraft to distant alien worlds, and much more.

Bee Engaged: Become a Beekeeper this Spring!

An Average Joe’s Guide to beekeeping basics – What You Need to Know to Start a Hive
Ages: 10+
In this 90-minute session, Joe Komperda, The Average Joe Beekeeper, will provide an overview on keeping honey bees and how to get started in the beekeeping hobby.  We’ll discuss the characteristics of honey bees, and why they are important as pollinators for our “way of life”.  We’ll then cover the basics of beekeeping to help you determine if becoming a Beekeeper is something you’d like to try.  As a result of this class you will have a better understanding of what the wonderful world of beekeeping is all about and how to start your own hives! This class is aimed at “WannaBees” (aspiring beekeepers), “NewBees” (first-year beekeepers) and those who have a basic interest in nature but it is also open to all those with inquiring minds.

Gravity Blast Mini-Camp

Ages: 5-12
SpaceTime’s Gravity Blast Mini-Camp takes kids on a hands-on, minds-on ride through the science of getting rockets and astronauts into space and beyond, and includes lots of all new activities and experiments such as designing their own rocket missions, trying out their planet walking skills in our Micro Gravity Boots, experiencing a simulated gravity slingshot, and launching spacecraft on interstellar missions.

Maker Station Workshop Let’s Solder Parent and Me!
Ages: 8+

Calling all Makers – do you love to DIY, create, craft, hack, or tinker with electronics? Then come learn how to solder! Parent and child will learn the basic fundamental skills of soldering – Soldering Iron Anatomy, Solder (alloy), Oxidation/Cleaning, Tinning, Joint Prep, Solder Vacuum, and use a Third Hand Stand. Once we have the basics, we will practice and make lights BLINK with the Blinking Light project. In addition, you will leave with a project to complete at home. Participants will receive one Blinking Light project, one Board Project, one Soldering Iron/Station per Parent/Child Team. Our Maker Space will be a great place for Junior Makers to get their start.
Fee includes one student and one parent (parent required).

Rockin' Rockets Camp

Ages: 5-10
With SpaceTime’s Rockin Rockets Camp, kids will get to do just about everything there is to do with rockets… short of riding one into space! They will go on a wild ride into the fascinating science of rocketry and space exploration by learning about the many challenges of getting into space, and go hands-on to build and launch safe, child-friendly rockets creating a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to leave the earth. Activities include discussing the science and history of rocketry, crafting their own SpaceTime Blaster Rockets, and launching lots of different kinds of rockets.

Parker Arts Variety Camp

Ages: 5-12
Join us for a best-of Parker Arts variety camp where kids will explore a different topic each day.
Monday – Science! Tuesday – Cooking! Wednesday – Arts! Thursday – Theater! Friday – Western Day! Kids will have a diverse and exciting week of learning over spring break.
Monday: Science – Explore science concepts, including solubility, density, miscibility, and many more, through color.  We'll make colorful explosions, test kaleidoscopic solubility, and perform vibrant chromatic experiments.
Tuesday:  Cooking – Learn to make Creamy Asparagus Chicken Penne Pasta, Strawberry Mandarin Orange Tossed Salad, Bunny Rolls, and Easter Basket Cookies. Class taught by Ms. Karon in the professional PACE kitchen.
Wednesday: Art – Complete a detailed drawing of a “Stack of Animals”. Create colorful Sculpey clay miniatures and complete a simple weaving project with KidzArt!
Thursday: Theater – Explore the world of theater with Ms. Alyssa! Kids will work together to perform scenes from classic stories. Each child will get to play a variety of different characters throughout the day in addition to learning theater games.
Friday: Wrap up the week with a Western Day. Learn how to line dance with Ms. Joy, create your own stars and horseshoes tic-tac-toe game, and write your own tall tale to share around the campfire.

I Want to be an Astronaut Workshop

Ages: 5-10
With SpaceTime’s I Want to be an Astronaut Workshop, kids get to see and feel what it is like to train for launching into space and exploring the planets, moons, comets and asteroids of our solar system. They will learn about the programs that NASA uses to get astronauts ready for space travel, design their own space missions, try planet walking in our Micro Gravity Boots, experience a simulated rocket launch, and more.
